Frequently Asked Questions
What differentiates KOKOON litter from other self-cleaning litters?
KOKOON benefits from a unique open-roof design, offering a cozy haven for your cat with maximum security.
Its 11.23 litre waste bin allows for hassle-free maintenance, lasting 1 to 2 weeks before collection.
The 3-second contactless disposal ensures quick and hygienic cleaning.
Does KOKOON require special bedding?
KOKOON effectively treats clumping or collectable waste. However, it is not compatible with litters made from newspaper or wood pellets, which are highly absorbent, non-clumping, or only slightly clumping.
Does KOKOON have a weight limit?
KOKOON features a spacious open-top design and has almost no weight limit.
Can kittens use KOKOON litter?
• Kittens weighing 1 kg or more can safely use the KOKOON litter box in automatic cleaning mode.
• For kittens weighing less than this threshold, we recommend disabling automatic cleaning mode and activating kitten mode. However, please note that the litter box will not be cleaned automatically in this mode.
• When you notice that your cat has used it, wait approximately 5 minutes for the waste to clump together, then manually start the cleaning process by pressing the 'Clean the machine' button or via the app once or twice a day (make sure the kitten is not inside the machine when you press the button).
• This approach ensures your kitten's safety during its first encounters with KOKOON, while saving you from having to manually clean the litter box.
How does KOKOON cat litter protect my cat?
• To ensure your cat's safety, the KOKOON litter box is equipped with 5 pairs of infrared sensors and 4 weight sensors.
• It automatically stops when a cat touches or enters the device. While your cat is inside, the weight sensors ensure the device remains stationary until your cat exits.
Does the KOKOON litter box still work when the internet is disconnected?
Yes, if the network is disconnected, KOKOON will continue to function according to your previous settings. However, chat activity will not be updated on the mobile app.
Can I use any type of bin bag in the waste bin?
Yes, you can use any bag that fits in the waste drawer.
How often should I empty the bin?
Generally, you only need to empty the waste bin about every 14 days for a cat. You can also check the bin's status on the mobile app to clean up the waste in a timely manner.
How much cat litter can be added to reach the MaxLine limit?
When using KOKOON for the first time, you need to add approximately 5 to 6 kg of cat litter.
Ensure that the litter box fills within the scale's capacity range, avoiding exceeding 100% or falling below 50% of the scale's capacity.
Will my cat actually use KOKOON litter?
• Cats are generally curious and tend to explore new things. Some cats will relieve themselves once the automatic litter box is ready.
• For other cats that have not adapted to the automatic litter box, you can add used litter to help them get used to it (when replacing the litter box, it is recommended to continue using the old litter at first).
• You can also place the KOKOON automatic litter box in the same place as the original litter box.
• Placing cat treats at the entrance of the litter box can encourage the cat to explore the new litter box.
• For timid cats, it is advisable to clean manually for the first few days. Once the cat is familiar and comfortable, you can switch to automatic cleaning mode.
